Abstract

To improve the properties of traditional Indian lime mortar, urine is applied. In this study, urea (fertiliser) was used instead of urine to provide a more sanitary choice. Urea is applied in varying amounts, such as 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%, using Lime Mortar 1:3 and Fly Ash Lime Gypsum (FAL-G) paste. The resulting composites were cast into 50-square-centimeter cubes and tested for weight density, water absorption, and compressive strength. The output of simple lime mortar cubes and plain FAL-G cubes was compared. FAL-G shows better properties with 3% urea than lime mortar.
