Abstract

A study was conducted to explore and identify the post covid symptoms associated with covid-19 among post covid patients with comorbidity in selected area Lawspet Puducherry. The objectives of the study were:

To assess the post symptoms of COVID-19 among post covid patient with comorbidity.
To find out association of the post symptoms with selected demographic variables.
Aim: This study aims to identify the post covid symptoms associated with covid-19 among post covid patients with comorbidity in selected area of Puducherry.

Subjects and Methods: A descriptive (Exploratory Research Design) was conducted to assess the post symptoms of covid 19 among post covid patient with comobidity in selected area Lawspet, Puducherry. The research approach adopted for this study was quantitative in nature, the present study undertaken with 50 samples with purposive sampling technique to select the samples. The tool used for this study were non standardized self-structured tool made by researcher. Individual consent was taken from the sample before collecting the data.

Results: The result showed that the post covid symptoms of post covid patient with comorbidity in system wise is as follows. In respiratory system the majority of sample had symptoms of prolonged cough i.e., (54%), in cardiovascular symptoms the majority of sample had symptoms of acute heart problem i.e., (96%), in gastrointestinal system majority of sample had symptom of abdominal pain i.e., (62%), in renal system majority of sample had symptom of kidney problem i.e., (100%), in neurological system majority of sample had symptom of sleep disturbance i.e., (70%), in psychological symptoms majority of sample had symptom of depression i.e., (82%), in musculoskeletal symptoms majority of sample had symptom of joint or muscular pain i.e., (64%), in ear, nose and throat the majority if sample had symptom of sore throat i.e., (72%), in dermatological symptoms the majority of sample had symptom of maculopapular rash i.e., (8%), general complications of symptoms the majority of sample had symptom of fever i.e., (92%).

Conclusion: The study concluded that most of them had the systemic wise post symptoms of covid-19 specifically post covid patient with comorbidity. It is the nursing role to later care of them.
